Powered by a 10-year battery that lasts the life of the alarm, no battery installation or replacement is necessary. An "end of life" warning will alert you when it is time to replace the entire unit. The voice alarm announces "Fire!" if a hazard is detected and indicates when the Smart Hush feature has been activated. This alarm features wire-free interconnectivity with other Kidde 10-Year Wire-Free Interconnect alarms. If one unit is triggered, all interconnected alarms will sound. Wire-free interconnectivity allows for easy interconnect setup and eliminates the need for expensive rewiring. You can even install this smoke detector in a detached garage or workshop and be alerted by another detector in the house.
