A wired, 120-Volt AC smoke alarm with a 9-Volt battery backup is the Kidde PI2010. This smoke alarm works both alone and as part of a larger network. The Kidde PI2010 has a Hush feature that enables you to instantly turn off bothersome alerts. It also has a tamper resist feature that prevents tampering and theft. The quick connect power harness that comes with the PI2010 makes installation quick and simple. This smoke alarm combines ionization and photoelectric sensors. Compared to photoelectric alarms, ionization sensing alarms may be able to identify unseen fire particles (related to blazing flames) earlier. Ionization alarms may not be as quick to pick up visible particles (associated with smoldering fires) as photoelectric detecting alarms.
